Abbasabad (Persian: عباس اباد)[a] is a city in, and the capital of, the Central District of Abbasabad County, Mazandaran province, Iran, and also serves as capital of the county.[4]

At the 2006 census, its population was 11,256 in 3,195 households, when it was in the former Abbasabad District of Tonekabon County.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 11,599 people in 3,620 households,[6] by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Abbasabad County.[4] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 13,482 people in 4,500 households.[2]
