The Unforgettable Fire on irlantilaisen rock-yhtye U2:n neljäs studioalbumi. Se on yhtyeen uran ensimmäinen albumi, jonka tuottivat suuresti yhtyeen musiikilliseen tyyliin vaikuttaneet Brian Eno ja Daniel Lanois. Albumin julkaisi Island Records 1. lokakuuta 1984.[1] Albumi erosi edeltäjistään merkittävästi kokeellisen tyylinsä vuoksi, ja sitä onkin luonnehdittu albumiksi, jonka myötä ”U2 syntyi uudelleen.”[2]

Albumin nimi on viittaus samannimiseen Hiroshiman ja Nagasakin pommituksista kertoneeseen taidenäyttelyyn, jossa yhtye oli vieraillut vuonna 1983 ollessaan War-albuminsa kiertueella Japanissa. The Unforgettable Firen levyttäminen aloitettiin vuoden 1984 toukokuussa Meathin kreivikunnassa sijaitsevassa Slane Castle -linnassa,[2] jonne yhtye oli muuttanut kirjoittamaan uusia kappaleita albumia varten. Albumin äänittäminen viimeisteltiin Dublinissa yhtyeelle jo tutussa Windmill Lane -studiossa.

The Unforgettable Fire sai positiivisen vastaanoton ja menestyi kansainvälisesti. Albumin singlejulkaisusta ”Pride (In the Name of Love)” muodostui yhtyeen siihenastisen uran suurin hitti, jonka turvin albumi nousi listaykköseksi Britannian ja Australian albumilistoilla.[1] Yhdysvalloissa sen korkein sijoitus Billboard 200 -listalla oli 12.[1] Vuonna 2009 albumista julkaistiin 25-vuotisjuhlapainos.

Vuonna 1995, Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab remasteroi albumin ja julkaisi sen erikoisversiona. Tässä versiossa on levy on hieman pidempi, se sisältää 2:39 kestävän instrumentaalikappaleen "4th of July".
