Sejarah

Masa awal

Firma tersebut aslinya didirikan pada 1840an, dengan bantuan Matthew Hodder, yang berusia empat belas tahun, dengan Messrs Jackson and Walford, penerbit resmi untuk Uni Kongregasional. Pada 1861, firma tersebut menjadi Jackson, Walford and Hodder; namun pada 1868, Jackson dan Walford pensiun, dan Thomas Wilberforce Stoughton brgabung dengan firma tersebut, membentuk Hodder & Stoughton.
