Hypocaccus er en gruppe av (slekt) av biller som tilhører familien stumpbiller (Histeridae).

Utseende

Små til middelsstore, tettbygde, oftest svarte stumpbiller. Kroppen er gjerne rundet og litt hvelvet. Gruppen kan kjennes på at dekkvingenes midparti er slett uten punkstriper, ofte speilblankt.

Levevis

En god del av artene er knyttet til sanddyner der de graver i sanden. Disse billene er (i alle fall for det meste) rovdyr som lever av andre smådyr.

Utbredelse

Slekten har en nær kosmopolittisk utbredelse, men ser ut til å mangle i Sør-Amerika.
