Họ Bầu bí (danh pháp khoa học: Cucurbitaceae) là một họ thực vật^[1] bao gồm dưa hấu, dưa chuột, bí đao, bầu, bí ngô, mướp, khổ qua, la hán quả. Nó là một trong những họ quan trọng nhất trong việc cung cấp thực phẩm trên thế giới, mặc dù có lẽ không quan trọng như họ Hòa thảo (Poaceae), họ Đậu (Fabaceae) hay họ Cà (Solanaceae).

Phần lớn các loài trong họ này là các loại dây leo sống một năm với hoa khá lớn và sặc sỡ. Phần lớn các loài trong họ rất dễ bị tổn thương trước ấu trùng của một số loài nhậy.

Phân loại

Phân loại gần đây của họ Cucurbitaceae chia nó thành 15 tông như sau:^[2]^[3]

Tông Gomphogyneae: 6 chi với khoảng 56 loài.
- Alsomitra (bao gồm cả Macrozanonia)
- Bayabusua
- Gomphogyne (bao gồm cả Triceros) - dây gom, đầu thư
- Gynostemma (bao gồm cả Enkylia, Pestalozzia, Trirostellum) - Chi Giảo cổ lam, gồm thư tràng, cổ yếm, giảo cổ lam
- Hemsleya – khoảng 30 loài dây hèm, tuyết đảm
- Neoalsomitra - lâm mạo
Tông Triceratieae: 4-5 chi với khoảng 24 loài, chủ yếu ở vùng nhiệt đới Tân thế giới (Đông và Nam châu Phi và Madagascar có chi Cyclantheropsis).

- Fevillea (bao gồm cả Anisosperma, Feuillaea, Feuillea, Hypanthera, Nandiroba, Nhandiroba)

Tông Actinostemmateae: 1-2 chi với khoảng 4 loài. Trung và Đông Á.
- Actinostemma (bao gồm cả Mitrosicyos, Pomasterion) - 2 loài bình trấp, xạ hùng.
- Bolbostemma: Đôi khi gộp trong Actinostemma. 2 loài đặc hữu Trung Quốc.
Tông Indofevilleeae: 1 chi, 1 loài trong các khu rừng thưa trên sườn núi tại đông bắc Ấn Độ, Bhutan và Tây Tạng.
