Występowanie

Rodzaj obejmuje gatunki występujące w Afryce[3].

Morfologia

Długość ciała 18 cm, masa ciała 50–79 g[4].

Systematyka

Etymologia

Greckie ὑλη hulē – teren lesisty, las; ψαρ psar, ψαρος psaros – szpak; obydwa gatunki z tego rodzaju zamieszkują dolne partie lasu[5].

Podział systematyczny

Takson ostatnio wyodrębniony z Lamprotornis[6][7][8][4]. Do rodzaju należą następujące gatunki[9]:

  • Hylopsar purpureiceps – błyszczak purpurowogłowy
  • Hylopsar cupreocauda – błyszczak miedzianosterny
