Zasięg występowania

Rodzina obejmuje gatunki występujące w północno-zachodnich Stanach Zjednoczonych[6].

Systematyka

Etymologia

Rhyacotriton: gr. ῥυαξ rhuax, ῥυακος rhuakos „wezbrany strumień”, od ῥεω rheō „płynąć”[7]; τριτων tritōn „traszka”[8].
